About Us

The Toowoomba Garden of Remembrance is a place of peace, beauty and dignity – and each memorial on our grounds is a perpetual statement of affection to the memory of a loved one.

Our long-established perfumed gardens, shady trees and tranquil lakes create a sense of calm, making us a place of reflection for people of all ages, all faiths, and cultures.

Here amongst 35 acres of wide and open space, we offer an extensive range of services, including burial and cremation, memorials and plaques.

We have created a beautiful diversity of burial lawns and memorials for cremations, so you can choose a style that suits your family.

We offer many personalisation options, which help you to properly symbolise the life of the person you are honouring.

Distinctive features of peace and beauty

Our extensive gardens and beautiful surrounds all convey a special place: one that is green, tranquil, and comforting.

Deciduous trees from around the world feature throughout our park-like grounds. In season they create a magnificent display of autumn colours.

With residential areas nearby, local visitors like to stroll on our pathways. Others sit on benches and seats in our grounds, or enjoy the peace and quiet of the surrounds from the comfort of their car. A visit to the Toowoomba Garden of Remembrance is a daily event in many people’s lives.

Our charming, comfortable chapel

The serene chapel located within our grounds allows a funeral service to take place at the same location as the burial or cremation. Air-conditioned, and with audio-visual equipment, our chapel has seating for 100 people.

We also provide a portable chapel for services at the burial site to provide protection from the weather and added dignity.

Catering

Our Memorial Tea Room provides families with the convenience of having a gathering of family and friends after a service, all at the same venue.

Timeless memorials

Toowoomba Garden of Remembrance offers a wide range of memorials, including many affordable options.

Our history

A legacy for Toowoomba

For over 50 years, the Toowoomba Garden of Remembrance has been a prominent and sacred feature in the life of Toowoomba and surrounds.

Built on former farmland, the cemetery grounds were established in 1966 with a vision to be more like a parkland than a cemetery. The crematorium began operations in 1969.

Both our cemetery and crematorium were opened to provide an essential service to the people of Toowoomba, the Darling Downs and the Lockyer Valley. They have both been part of the fabric of the Darling Downs ever since.
